Security systems
Security is electrical work. Treat it that way.
Electric fencing, CCTV, alarms, beams and intercoms — installed and maintained by a registered electrical contractor, not bolted on by a handyman.
What we handle
- Electric fencing — installation, repairs and energiser replacement
- CCTV cameras and recorders, set up so you can actually find the footage
- Alarm systems: installation, servicing and battery replacement
- Outdoor beams for perimeter and driveway detection
- Intercoms and access control
- Integration with gate automation so entry and alarm work as one system
Access control and gate automation belong together — see gate & garage motors for motors, remotes and keypads.
Certificates matter here too.
Electric fencing may only be installed by a holder of a valid Electric Fence System Installer certificate, and a compliance certificate for that fence is required when a property transfers. It is the same argument as the electrical CoC: an uncertified cheap job costs more later — at transfer, or at a claim.
Needing the paperwork sorted before a sale? See inspections & compliance.
- Does electric fencing need a certificate?
- Yes. Electric fence work must be done by someone holding a valid Electric Fence System Installer certificate, and an electric fence certificate of compliance is required on property transfer — separate from the electrical CoC.
- My fence keeps triggering for no reason.
- Usually vegetation, a corroded joint or a failing energiser battery, not the alarm itself. We test the line before selling you anything new.
- Can you work on a system another company installed?
- Yes, on most common brands. We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth servicing or replacing.
- Is security covered by a care plan?
- The Business plan includes an annual electric fence and security system check.
